Bartender

JOB TITLE:                BARTENDER
REPORTS TO:            BAR MANAGER

The primary responsibilities of a Bartender are to exemplify uncompromising hospitality, providing our guests with great food and beverage, accompanied by attentive, gracious and friendly service, while adhering to all of Duck & Waffle Local standards and guidelines.

JOB DUTIES

  • Attend mandatory pre-shift meeting before service
  • Arrive to work on time for shift
  • Collect money for drinks served
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Balance cash receipts
  • Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform while working
  • Ensure drinks are delivered on time
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent English speaker
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in hotels or restaurants
  • Must undergo training on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to display warmth and hospitality
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Exerting up to 25 kgs of force occasionally, and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object
